Health Career Summer Camp
Each year, North Central AHEC, Northern Highlands AHEC, and Northwest AHEC accept a combined 30 high school students (grades 10-12) and first year college students to participate in an intensive, week-long summer health careers camp, with concentrated efforts placed on recruitment of rural, disadvantaged, and minority participants. The camp focuses on career exploration, post-secondary planning, service learning, and caring for vulnerable populations, all through in-kind experiences coordinated with regional health care facilities and academic partners throughout all 3 regions of northern Wisconsin.
